Day 1 - The line
Three months ago, I was in a short line at Party City. The lady in front of me had over 100 small items to buy, I had one. She was with her 20 year old daughter and there was only one cashier. You can imagine what happened next. It took the cashier 10 minutes to ring her up. It seriously felt like FOREVER. Really. Did she ask me if I wanted to go in front of her....no! Did I ask her if I could go ahead of her? Yes. Guess how she answered me...I was here first (yeah, by a nano second..darn that meniscus tear and the knee surgery that followed afterward). I never forgot that moment and the example she had set for her daughter about the (lack) of kindness for strangers. So for my RAK Day 1, I let the elderly gentleman at the local grocery store go in front of me since he had about 10 items in his cart and me...about 1,000. Well, it sure felt like that after grocery shopping for a whole hour and 30 min. RAK rules! Next time you're shopping and you're not in a hurry or running late, look to see who's behind you. It might be Tony Danza from Who's The Boss or someone with a whole lot less items than you.
